A tribute to Gygax (NYT, 9.3.08) by Sam Potts
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition
Hard to leave the old skool behind. I have played D&D and versions thereafter for the past 33 years off and on. The majority has been 1st edition which remains my favourite and I currently DM 2 different games both of which are set with the Forgotten Realms.
One games runs on alternate Monday evenings whilst the other is a day session running approximately once per month.
Some shots from a Monday in June can be found here!
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition
Another old skool DM has joined our club and started a new campaign based in the Forgotten Realms. I have now started playing in that on the Monday's alternate to my game of first edition referred to above.
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition
I have very limited experience here - but currently play on one Thursday out of three in a really well run game set in a continent known as Gaultria. My limitations with the system show every time I play!!
D20 Modern/Fusion
Once again this is played on a once every three weeks rotation with the same cool GM as the AD&D 3.5 game. Really enjoying adventuring in little ole Blighty!
Runequest 2nd Edition
OMG!! Back to Runequest after I don't know how long!! I was never sure in the old days if RQ was my bag with its Bronze Age based reality. However I am giving it another bash with a very experienced DM and group of players - all of whom are as old as I am!! How about that!!
